Domain Name Policies
Registration
Domains are registered and managed in accordance with Nominet terms and conditions via a Nominet channel partner process. Availability is not guaranteed until registration is completed on a first come, first served basis. If a requested name cannot be secured, an update is normally sent within 24 hours.
Your Obligations
Registrants must not use domains for unlawful activity, abusive registrations, or rights infringement. Accurate contact and ownership information is required, including name, address, email, telephone, and company data when relevant. Registrants are responsible for keeping all details current.
Renewal and Expiry
Renewal reminders are typically sent at least 30 days before expiry. Expired names can usually be renewed during the 30-day Expiry Grace Period. After that, domains may enter a 60-day Redemption Grace Period where recovery can be possible but not guaranteed.
Charges
The standard charge for a successful registration (catch) of a .uk domain is £49. This fee is only applicable if the domain is successfully secured on your behalf. Updates to personal details and transfers away to another Nominet registrar are handled without any direct transfer fees from this service.
Complaints and Abuse Reporting
Complaints and abuse reports can be submitted through the contact email on this page. Responses are generally provided within 24 hours and resolution efforts aim for 3 working days. For .uk disputes, Nominet can be contacted directly at www.nominet.uk/complaints.
